This 163,418 square foot state-of-the-art refrigerated storage and distribution facility was acquired off market on a “sale and leaseback” basis directly from Maple Leaf Foods in 2009. During the height of the financial crisis, a 20-year lease was negotiated with Maple Leaf Foods and this property was acquired for $21,006,000. Upon stabilization of the financial markets, the property was subsequently sold in 2010 to a publicly traded REIT for $25,500,000, only seven months after acquisition.
